Dragonmeet! It’s happening real soon, and TIN is going to be there! Stall C-10! 30th November at Novotel Hammersmith! We did a whole email about what we’re selling on the TIN stall, go check it out! Come say hi on the day!
What’s more, there will be a Dragonmeet online social on Sunday 1st December at 2pm, in the #tea-morning channel in the UK TIN Discord server.
Our next TIN Talk is “Advertising as an Indie” by George from Three Sails Studios. The talk will break down the process of advertising TTRPG projects during the pre-marketing period in the Meta ecosystem, based on George’s experiences with Mappa Mundi. George will share his process, break down the terminology and the need-to-know information, and how to make the most of a small budget. Join us on Thursday 12th December at 7.30pm on the Seminar Stage of the UK TIN Discord.
All of our TIN Talks are recorded and available at the TIN Talks Archive.
Podcasts, Streams and Shows
We often talk about games and other products that TIN members have made. But TIN isn’t only for game designers, it’s for people in every part of the UK tabletop industry. So, in this edition, we’re highlighting some podcasts, actual plays and even a live show that you might not know about.
Roll Britannia is a comedy-focused D&D 5e actual play podcast from six British podcasters with no experience playing Dungeons & Dragons. And they’re putting on a live show at MCM ComicCon in Birmingham, on Sunday 1st Dec 2024 at 3:50pm, in the NEC. Expect wit, banter, and rowdy pirate antics.
Join Kat The Lore Mistress, the award-winning GM for Girls Run These Worlds and co-writer of ARGO-0, as they explore and create a wide range of RPG content. From solo journaling RPGs to group games such as the D&D 5e actual play Therosian Odyssey, Tales from the Loop RPG, and many more.
Catch them live on Twitch or watch at your leisure on Youtube.
The DM’s Book Club is a podcast that dives into the world and mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons. Hosts Fiona and Hamilton look at lore, settings, and character classes, and also share advice for DMs on game design, as well as reviews of published adventures they might want to run.
The Misadventurer's League is an actual play show on Twitch that shows off a large variety of games every week. They aim to uplift UK/EU players, and open opportunities for people to make their AP debut in a controlled and safe environment. If you’ve always wanted to try playing on stream, they post casting calls on their Discord and socials.
The Outer Crust is the first in-house actual play by Warbler Audio, an audio production and editing agency that helps TTRPG podcasts and audio dramas sound as good as they can. Using the Teens in Space system, The Outer Crust follows a trio of pizza delivery workers just trying to survive and deliver their food on time.
Bundles, Crowdfunding, & Subscriptions
In Johnson Squared, an unorthodox Mothership RPG module by Peregrine Coast Press, become deputised by Janus Corp and tasked with identifying the rogue scientist responsible for leaking data off Gemini Station. The not so simple task proves to be a challenging ordeal, as everyone on the station is an exact clone of the same scientist: Dr. Richard Johnson, a geneticist whose genius borders frequently on the maniacal.
Support the project on Backerkit, running until December 10th.
Part magic system, part physical prop: a new edition of the Pergamino Barocco is about to be kickstarted by Lost Pages. A grimoire of system-agnostic spells for any fantasy roleplaying game, the book comes in the form of a genuine scroll, making for an authentic prop for your wizard to study, your sorcerer to scoff at, or your warlock to deface, probably.
Featuring real illustrations from magical grimoires and texts from history, this product allows a deeper dive into the world of magic, and will give creative players and DMs a goldmine of roleplay and lore opportunities.
You can sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter goes live here.
UK Tabletop Industry Network has a Patreon! All contributions go towards our goal to support up-and-coming creators in the tabletop industry without a paywall or other barrier to entry. In particular, Patreon funding is the main way we cover up-front fees for conventions and events. The more funding we get, the more events we can attend, and the more games by aspiring creatives we can put in front of excited gamers that might otherwise never see them.
If you support the Patreon at the £5 tier or above, you’ll get free access to a growing selection of great games contributed by our members, including LadyBeaste by Michael Duxbury, Drama Llamas by Yvris Burke, Biome by Black Armada Games, and Slasher by Sam Armstrong.
Contributors to this month’s edition of the TIN newsletter were Ryan Wheeldon, Jack Terry, Josh Gane, Stephen Morffew and Eleanor Hingley. If you would like to contribute to the newsletter, drop a message in the #tin-volunteering channel of the UK TIN Discord or contact Stephen Morffew via email at stepintorpgs(at)outlook(dot)com.
