Hello! Michael here, with the usual roundup of TIN events and product releases.
GenCon is just around the corner, though this year I can’t go, because I spent all my money on getting married. I’m sad to be missing it, but all things told, it’s a pretty nice reason not to go.
If you are going, why not let us know, and try to meetup with other TIN folks at the con? You can check-in to see who else is going at any of our socials. Send a selfie to invoke maximum jealousy.
Meetups & Events
The people have spoken - we’re coming to Zone 1! The next London Tabletop Industry Networking Meetup is on Thursday 3rd August, at the Lamb on Conduit Street.
I know that some folks have been put off attending previous meetups due to their remote location. So I’m hopeful that this one’s going to be much better attended, as everyone who was waiting for a more accessible venue should be there!
We’ll see how this one goes before confirming future dates and locations, but the current plan is for future meetups to be on Thursday 7th September, and Thursday 5th October.
New & Recent Releases
Never Mind the Dice Rolls #23 is now on sale, with a review of Fria Ligan’s Arabian-Nights-in-Space opus Coriolis, a discussion of the zine’s future, and other articles of interest to gaming nerds. Remember that you can sign up for a subscription at the zine’s Patreon.
The Indie RPG Carousel from DieselShot livestreams read-thrus, analysis, and feedback for indie RPGs. The plan was for my violent survival horror game, Crying Wolf, to feature on the show last Sunday, but that’s been rescheduled due to power outages! So if you’re not at GenCon, you can watch DieselShot’s live review of my first Dark Aesop game at 5pm BST on Sunday 6th August instead.
Bundles, Crowdfunding, & Subscriptions
It’s a big one this month! The Kickstarter for Terminal, the digital pirate action RPG from Diana Jones Award Winner Kayla Dice, is live and ready to take your money.
Happily, the game has already funded and punched through its first two stretch goals, including a techno-fable from TIN writer and game designer Jo Winter. But it could definitely use your support, to go even further, and meet other stretch goals!
Are you a savvy consumer who wants to hear more before you part with your cold hard cash? Then why not listen to the promotional episode of This is Your Lifepath, which flips the script by interviewing the show’s usual host Kayla. It’s a deep-dive on Terminal’s origins, inspirations, and design philosophy.
Still on the fence? Well, first of all, chill out, it’s just a game, you don’t need to be uptight about it. But you might want to consider checking out Kayla’s other games first, to whet your appetite for more. The Rat Wave Game House library is heavily discounted right now, as Kayla raises funds for moving expenses.
